Two cars, same model: how to build a better shortlist

By CarTrak · · 2 min read

Two Honda City listings can suit very different buyers. The same applies to an Ertiga, Swift or any other model. Use a consistent set of questions so you compare the actual cars rather than just their names.

1.Compare the specification first

Put the year, variant, fuel and transmission side by side. Decide which specification fits your daily use. If a listing leaves something out, ask for the detail instead of assuming that every car with the same model name has the same equipment.

2.Ask about history and condition

Review the stated owner count, kilometres and service information. Ask about repairs, disclosed issues and any inspection findings. Treat these as details to understand together rather than choosing a car using just one number.

3.Use search to narrow the list

On CarTrak, combine the model with a year or registration area, such as City 2022 or City TN34. Use the fuel, transmission and verification filters to focus your search. A registration area is separate from the car’s current location, so confirm where the viewing will take place.

4.Check availability before planning a visit

Look at whether the listing is available, booked or sold, then contact CarTrak for its latest status. Open the full listing, review all its photos and share the link with anyone helping you decide. Shortlist the cars that answer your needs most clearly.
